The owner of Oakdale’s Fresh Food Supermarket, Jose Colon, wants his employees to know their hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic is appreciated.
That’s why he released this public message to the community.
“To all our employees, thank you,” he wrote on Facebook.
He continued with the following:
“Thank you for providing familiar faces in an unfamiliar time, and comfort during this difficult time.
“Thank you for keeping our store sanitized, disinfected and clean.
“Thank you for stocking all the necessary products as quickly as possible.
“Thank you for the amazing serving you are providing to our beloved customers.”
Colon, who opened this past summer in Oakdale’s Lighthouse Commons shopping center, has prided himself on giving back during this health crisis.
His employees get free lunches and he extended this courtesy to all first responders, healthcare professionals, and senior citizens.
As the virus continues to persist, Colon urges shoppers to adhere to the state’s new guidelines to wear masks or face covers while in public spaces.
“It’s for your safety and for ours,” he said.
Fresh Food Supermarket is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. To contact the grocery store, call (631) 750-3148.
