All first responders, healthcare professionals, and senior citizens can now eat lunch for free at Fresh Food Supermarket in Oakdale.

The new grocery store, which opened this past summer, is giving those mentioned above a meal from its hot food bar — limited to one plate per person.

“This is a time to be strong and come together as one large community,” said Fresh Food owner Jose Colon.

Earlier this month during the virus outbreak, Colon began giving his employees free dishes, and this week he expanded to include those heavily impacted by COVID-19.

“This is our way to help mitigate all of this,” he told GreaterSayville.

Fresh Food Supermarket is located Oakdale’s Lighthouse Commons shopping center. Any questions, call (631) 750-3148.
