Sayville Farmers Market announces opening day is May 1

|

One of the surest signs that spring is upon us — yes, even with all that rain coming down today — is that the folks at The Sayville Farmers Market have announced that May 1 will be their opening day.

“We’re thrilled to welcome The Sayville Farmers Market community back for the 2021 season,” said Emily Spada Cigliano, social media manager for the seasonal market. “It’s important to us — especially during these unprecedented times — to support Long Island’s small businesses.”

The market features vendors from Sayville, Blue Point and across Long Island. It sets up shop on the grounds of The Islip Grange, located on the northeast corner of Broadway Avenue and Montauk Highway in Sayville.

Through October — and perhaps up until Thanksgiving — the market will be open each Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. Rain or shine.

Last year’s final day was Nov. 21. Visitors will be required to wear mask due to the ongoing safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
