‘Gyro Day’ is Saturday, Feb. 27, at St. John’s in Blue Point

How do you spell yum? This Saturday in Blue Point, it’s G-Y-R-O!

That’s because Father Dean Panagos and St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church of Blue Point are pulling out all the pita bread and tzatziki sauce they can find for a five-hour, drive-thru “Gyro Day” bonanza.

From 3 to 8 p.m., Father Dean and his crew will serve up delicious Greek cuisine at the church, located at 77 Montauk Highway.

The church is offering a family meal for four for under $50, along with a variety of gyros, sandwiches and tasty sides. Also on the menu is a Greek salad, feta cheese and spinach pies and baklava.

The church will accept online orders until noon on Saturday. After that, call-in orders will start at 1 p.m.. To do that, call 631.363.6450.

Pick up is simple. Just drive drive to the Blue Point church and the St. John’s food vendors will direct you to where you need to go.
