Downtown Sayville’s Starbucks swung back open its doors this weekend, following a nine-day hiatus for reasons related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ultra-popular coffee spot closed on Jan. 7 after two employees tested positive for COVID-19. The shop re-opened this weekend following a deep cleaning, a spokesperson said.
The coffee shop Monday was busy thanks to Martin Luther King Jr. holiday foot traffic.
Meanwhile, Cricket’s restaurant delayed its reopening until Jan. 26. Following its own COVID-related closure on Jan. 7, the restaurant had originally planned to open back up today.
On Saturday, Cricket’s posted an update on Facebook, alerting customers of the delay. The eatery closed “closed out of caution due to the pandemic,” according to an earlier post on Cricket’s Facebook page.
