More New Yorkers are now eligible to receive one of the COVID-19 vaccines.
That’s because on Monday Gov. Andrew Cuomo moved to Phase 1B of the state’s vaccine distribution plan, which now allows people who are 65 or older, first responders, school staffers, and more the opportunity to be inoculated.
The first phase, in December, gave high-risk hospital workers across the state access to the vaccine.
The vaccines, which are from drugmakers Pfizer and Moderna, each require two doses. There’s no charge to be vaccinated.

Below are six Northwell Health locations in Suffolk County that are giving the vaccine.
“Vaccine doses are currently very limited, but more appointment times are added every day, so please check back here regularly to view availability,” reads Northwell’s website on the vaccine sites.
