Oakdale’s Snapper Inn closing until March

|

The owners of The Snapper Inn by the water in Oakdale announced the restaurant will shut down on Monday and stay closed until March 4.

The decision is related to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Suffolk County.

“This decision comes from an abundance of caution for our guests and staff,” the announcement reads. “As you all know, the numbers for Suffolk County are getting higher, and we want to do our part in keeping everyone safe.”

The eatery will use the time to carry out renovation projects, according to the statement, which was posted on social media.

“We are really looking forward to the 2021 season, and our family and staff wish you and your family good health and happiness for the year ahead,” the operators said in the announcement.

The Snapper Inn is open today and Sunday, Jan. 3.

Owned and operated by the Remmer Family continuously since 1929, The Snapper Inn is located along the Connetquot River at 500 Shore Drive.
