This year couldn’t have been all bad for Richard Raynor.
The Holbrook man received a million reasons to smile when he scored big with a $1 million Powerball second prize, New York Lottery officials announced this fall.
Raynor matched the first five numbers of a summer drawing, after purchasing his winning ticket from 50% Off Cards & Gifts on Main Street in Holbrook. He’s one of a handful of million-dollar-plus 2020 New York Lottery winners from Long Island.
Raynor’s lucky numbers were 7, 10, 63, 64 and 68 in Powerball 10. His $1 million prize was paid out as a one-time lump sum payment of $671,800 after required withholdings.
Other big New York Lottery winners in Suffolk County this fall include Laura Florissant of Amityville, who won $10 million after buying a winning Black Titanium scratch-off ticket from a Quick Chek on Sunrise Highway in Copiague, and Jeannine Trombino of East Moriches, who won $1 million from a Boggle Cashword scratch-off ticket she purchased at the 7-Eleven on East Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.
