Greater Sayville coverage is funded in part by The Shed, your scratch kitchen for brunch and dinner daily at 21 Main St. in West Sayville.
The Sayville Library is shut down until after the long Thanksgiving Day weekend “due to a COVID-19 exposure,” the library reports.
A Facebook post on the Sayville Library page states, “Out of an abundance of caution, the Library will be closed” through Monday, Nov. 30. It will reopen on Tuesday, Dec. 1, the post says.
The post notes that risk of exposure to patrons is minimal because of the library’s strict safety protocols. During the closure, the library will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
COVID-19’s cloud over the area has been evident with an uptick in cases and hospitalizations, temporary closures of restaurants and rumored future closings of schools.
On Sunday, people looking to be tested for COVID-19 stood in long lines outside urgent care centers across Suffolk County.
Patrons who signed up for grab and go crafts at the library will be contacted by a librarian.
The library advises that patrons should visit our the library website at sayvillelibrary.org to utilize its online services and learn about its virtual programs.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask that you please continue to follow all safety precautions against COVID-19 in your daily life,” the library says in its Facebook post.
