Sayville honors three more student-athletes heading to DI and DII athletic programs

|

Sayville High School hosted a letter-of-intent signing ceremony on Friday for three more seniors who committed to playing at NCAA Division I and Division II programs next year.

Swimmer Kathryn Brady, boys lacrosse player Monte Piervencenti and girls tennis standout Mary Madigan joined seven other Sayville seniors that were honored at the school last week.

Kathryn Brady — Niagara University

Kathryn joined the varsity swimming and diving team in eighth grade. She has qualified for the county championships each year on the team, and she has competed at the state championships the last three seasons.

Kathryn has achieved All-State status for the 100 Breaststroke and the 200 Medley Relay; she holds the school record for breaststroke in the 200 Medley Relay.

Monte Piervencenti — Caldwell University

Monte’s first year on varsity lacrosse as a junior was cut short when the 2020 spring season was cancelled due to COVID-19. He is a talented long-stick midfielder on his way to DII Caldwell University next year.

Mary Madigan — Hofstra

Mary earned All County tennis honors every year in high school and she has been a starter on the varsity tennis team since seventh grade. She has been the first-singles player on varsity since her sophomore season.
