Health advisory: Potential COVID-19 exposure at two Oakdale restaurants

|

Diners who ate at two Oakdale restaurants — Mannino’s and The Village Idiot Pub — in the days before and after Halloween may have been exposed to COVID-19, county health officials said.

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services advises anyone who visited Mannino’s between Oct. 29 – Nov. 4 or The Village Idiot Irish Pub, between Oct. 31 – Nov. 2 that they may have been exposed to the coronavirus.

“Those who were potentially exposed should monitor themselves for symptoms for 14 days after visiting the restaurant,” the advisory from the county reads.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Mannino’s website currently states “We are temporarily closed for construction.” The popular authentic Italian restaurant, located at 1575 Montauk Highway, posted the same message yesterday on its Facebook account. The Village Idiot Pub is located at 1487 Montauk Highway.

Suffolk County health officials encourage potentially exposed people to get tested for COVID-19. Click here for information on COVID-19.
