Spook-tacular event for the kids on Halloween in Sayville

|

Downtown Sayville will host a Trick or Treat On Main Street event this Halloween.

The Oct. 31 event presented by the Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce encourages families to dress up and go trick-or-treating at businesses along Main Street, South Main and Railroad Avenue in Sayville and on Main Street in West Sayville.

From 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., the shops, restaurants and other storefronts will hand out treats and goodies. Hammer & Stain will be selling a special family Halloween activity kit that day.

Shoppers who make purchases while trick-or-treating can bring their receipts showing a $5 or more purchase at the Chamber of Commerce table — on Main Street next to Lacrosse Unlimited — by 4 p.m. to earn a free raffle ticket and a chance to win one of two Halloween baskets.

The drawing will be held at 4:30 p.m. Winners will notified by phone if they are not present.

Participants are required to follow Centers of Disease Control and Prevention guidelines — masks must be worn while in stores and social distancing will apply at all times.

Greater Sayville of Commerce President Eileen Tyznar said events like these are important for the community.

“We are trying to modify some of the smaller events to provide fun and a sense of normalcy to our businesses and families in our community,” she said.

“Our goal is to support our businesses as much as we can while keeping in mind all of the CDC guidelines and requirements to keep our community safe.”
