Sayville will host a candlelight vigil Tuesday night, honoring the life and legacy of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
The country this week is mourning the death of Ginsburg, the second woman to serve on the nation’s highest court and a cultural icon to younger generations. Ginsburg, 87, passed away on Friday due to complications of pancreatic cancer.
The Sept. 22 event in Sayville takes place at 7 p.m. at The Common Ground, located at 45 Gillette Ave. Organizers said attendees should bring candles, flashlights, battery-powered candles, or other small devices that can produce a light.
Attendees are required to wear masks and to practice social distancing.
