Sayville Marina Park’s ‘Ray’ Sanchez honored by Town Of Islip

|

A popular Sayville Marina Park attendant has been honored with a special citation from the Town of Islip for nearly 20 years of service.

Reinald “Ray” Sanchez — praised for his dedication, kindness, and devotion to his work — recently retired from the town. His wife Ida and son Carlos, along with Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter and town employees, came together last week at the marina to honor him with the citation from the town.

“Ray has provided guidance and assistance to the residents of our Town, always serving with a friendly demeanor,” Carpenter said. “He leaves behind a legacy of service and devotion that has touched so many, and will be truly missed.”

On a Town of Islip Facebook post about Sanchez’s retirement, Facebook user Greg Dawson commented: “Congratulations Ray. You are one of the most dedicated people I had the pleasure to work with. Always a gentleman and never missed a day. You will be sorely missed but greatly deserve your retirement. Enjoy and take care.”

Matthew Tripodi-Kogut called Sanchez “a legend” in his comment on the town’s Facebook post.
