New management at Oakdale’s Fresh Food will soon transform the grocery store into Farm Fresh Supermarket, placing a new emphasis on its produce area.
In making a switch to an American farm-style approach, Farm Fresh operators will double the size of the existing produce department. The plan also calls for a huge increase in the amount and variety of locally grown fruits and veggies on sale.
More grab-and-go meal options are also in the mix, management said.
The 25,000-square-foot supermarket opened in June 2019 in the Lighthouse Commons shopping plaza on Montauk Highway. The storefront was previously occupied by a Best Yet Market, and had sat vacant for three years.
Farm Fresh also features a full bakery, a wide organic selection, and fresh meat and seafood areas. Lighthouse Commons is also home to the CM Performing Arts Center and the Oakdale Brew House.
Farm Fresh is open 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 7 a.m.-8 p.m. on Sunday.
