‘The Salty Bastard’ is bringing a floating concert to Sayville and Blue Point Aug. 13

|

Blue Point Brewing Co.‘s new 45-foot barge, The Salty Bastard, sets sail to West Sayville and Blue Point Thursday, Aug. 13.

The vessel, which resides normally in the Patchogue River, made its first public appearance last weekend where it moored in the Great South Bay by Davis Park Marina.

The Blue Point crew handed out beverages like its new Long Island Iced Teas to those 21 and up, people tried the ship’s waterslide, all while Soundswell performed on a floating platform tied to the ship.

A similar experience will happen tomorrow — but this time closer to the mainland.

Weather permitting, the show will start at 4 p.m. at Kingston’s Clam Bar, and then will later end up at JT’s on the Bay.

“The barge is going to pull into each place and tie up to the dock while we play for the restaurants,” said Keenan Boyle, of Soundswell.

Things will wrap up around 8 p.m.

If you can’t make it, The Salty Bastard is heading back to Davis Park on Sept. 12.

There are currently additional dates being tossed around, so check back at GreaterSayville for more information.
