Sayville’s Donaldsons Subaru donates nearly $33K to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue

Donaldsons Subaru in Sayville, as part of Subaru’s national “Share the Love” event this month, donated nearly $33,000 to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue.

This is the fourth straight year the auto dealer has picked the hospital as its designee. The charitable campaign lets buyers decide which of the dealer’s designated not-for-profits will receive $250 for the purchase of a new car over a select period of time, according to Subaru.

“We are so grateful for the support of our good friends at Donaldsons Subaru through Share the Love,” Long Island Community Hospital President and CEO, Richard T. Margulis said, “as well as their continued
generosity as supporters of our other signature fundraisers throughout the year.”

Through the Share the Love Event, Subaru of America and its participating retailers have donated more than $176 million to charity, according to Subaru. Subaru customers choose between four national and over 1,220 hometown charities.

Over the last four years, Long Island Community Hospital has received over $146,000 as one of Donaldsons’ “Share the Love” hometown charities.

“It is during these trying times that we rely on our long-time friends and supporters,” said Rachel Schnabl, the hospital’s vice president and chief development officer. “The Donaldsons Subaru family continues to devote their time and talent to raise much needed funds for their community hospital.”

Donaldsons Subaru Owner and President David Donaldson said “the real benefit of this program is that it allows us to give back to the community that has supported us for so many years.”

“These past few months have shown us all just how important a resource like Long Island Community Hospital is to this community,” he added.
