Sayville’s highly anticipated pop-up, drive-in movie theater happens this weekend at the Islip Grange.

After-dark showings of the classic “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” are on tap for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 p.m. The recently released family movie “Sonic the Hedgehhog 2020” will be shown Saturday and Sunday nights at 8:30 p.m.

The Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce’s presentation of “A Pop-Up Drive-In Movie Weekend!” comes after weeks of planning and the approval of a special permit by Islip Town.

Members of Sayville High School’s graduating Class of 2020 will enjoy a special Friday night screening of a 41-minute graduation movie produced by one of the students. The graduates will enjoy free ice cream and popcorn donated by the chamber of commerce.

All of the proceeds from the three-night event will go toward benefiting the Greater Sayville Small Business Relief Fund.
