Vegas is what’s happening at Long Island’s MacArthur Airport.

The Islip Town-run airport announced on Thursday that Frontier Airlines is adding non-stop flights to Sin City from ISP beginning March 18, 2021.

“For years, Long Island travelers have been hoping and asking for nonstop flights to Las Vegas from MacArthur Airport,” said Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter at a press conference on Thursday. “We are so excited that Frontier Airlines will now be offering Las Vegas service with fares that will lift your spirits.”

The airline is offering introductory fares to Las Vegas for $79 roundtrip. You can visit FlyFrontier.com to book a flight.

The news of the new route comes less than a month since Frontier added non-stop destinations to Fort Myers and Palm Beach from Long Island.

The Denver-based airline also offers year-round service from ISP to Atlanta, Fort Myers, Miami, Myrtle Beach, Orlando, Raleigh-Durham, Tampa, and West Palm Beach.

“Frontier is offering the largest schedule of any airline at ISP this winter, with daily flight operations to many of the country’s most beloved vacation destinations with low fares to make it even easier to start traveling again,” said Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s senior vice president.

safety measures

To keep travelers safe, MacArthur Airport recently implemented new safety measures, including adding a touchless PPE vending machines and installing adhesive films to high-touch surfaces, such as water fountains, elevator buttons and bathroom door handles.

The airport also added CASPR Air, a new purification system that uses continuous air and surface pathogen reduction technology.

“We want to make it easy for customers to fly safely and comfortably with the new health and safety requirements,” said the airport’s commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken said.
