25 Photos: Sayville High School teachers drop off lawn signs at the homes of graduating seniors

|

Sayville High School faculty this week delivered lawn signs to the homes of every member of the Class of 2020.

The celebration brought smiles to the more than 200 graduating seniors and their families across Sayville and West Sayville.

“Not to have a graduation is painful. As soon as we can do it, we will,” New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said this week, announcing that drive-in and drive-through commencement celebrations will be allowed this month, but not the traditional large gatherings.

Schools in Sayville and across the state have been closed since March 13 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sayville schools Superintendent John Stimmel said in a letter to the community that will “provide finalized plans for commencement as soon as they are available.”

In the meantime, seniors are celebrating their special moment as best they can. Check out the photos from Sayville schools below, and be sure to click on boxes 2, 3, 4 and 5 to see them all.
