Fasten your taste buds. The Shed in West Sayville re-opened today for takeout.
Chef Bobby Baez fired up the grill inside the restaurant’s giant kitchen early this morning, and the food orders started pouring in at 10 a.m.
“We’re super excited to open our completely contactless curbside pickup menu to the public again,” said Melissa Sorice, spokeswoman for The Shed eateries in West Sayville and Huntington. “The outpouring of kindness The Shed has received from our guests during the shutdown was truly heartwarming.”
Sorice said the menu features brunch and Dinner favorites, along with the restaurant’s signature cocktails — the Pink Panther, The Watermelon and The Shed’s Bloody Mary to name a few.
“The requests were coming in daily for us to reopen takeout and we felt, in conjunction with the New York state mid-May dates, this was the right time to get our team back together to make their magic,” she said.
“Now, more than ever, small businesses like ours and those on our Main Streets need the support of the community as we work to keep our teams employed and our communities vibrant and of course eating well.”
Here’s a list of the some of The Shed standards:
- Body temperatures will be taken of each staff member before they enter the building.
- Masks and gloves will be provided.
- All proper social distancing measures are explained and posted in writing inside the restaurant.
Additionally, the restaurant “will continue our elevated standards in all areas of sanitation and cleanliness as it pertains to our restaurants, employees and food preparation,” Sorice said.
