Sayville Virtual Bar Crawl returns this Saturday — so does live professional sports

|

Aps, drinks and live sports on U.S. soil.

A sense of normalcy can be yours this Saturday afternoon by pairing Sayville’s Virtual Bar Crawl with the first professional sports game played in the United States in over eight weeks.

Five bars and restaurants are participating in the bar crawl — the second one this month — from 1-4 p.m., just in time for you to hunker down for the second day of the UTR Pro Match Series, a round-robin event to be broadcast live on The Tennis Channel at noon.

For $100, you’ll get an appetizer and two bar drinks from each of the five eateries. Delivery will only cost you an additional five bucks. The cost includes raffle tickets to win prizes from each location.

Each location will deliver their course to your home separately. Those who buy a pick-up ticket will need to pick up each course at each location separately, from 1-4 p.m.

You must live within three miles of the establishments to be eligible for delivery. The South Shore Dive will be live on Instagram at 4 p.m. with giveaways and music.

UTR Pro Match Series features four young stars

The UTR Pro Match Series involves four young tennis stars — two Americans and one each from Poland and Serbia — facing off in a three-day, round-robin event at an undisclosed location in West Palm Beach.

Florida resident Reilly Opelka, ranked third in the United States and No. 39 on the ATP world tour, will be joined by fellow American Tommy Paul, who is No. 6 in the country and No. 57 in the world; Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz, No. 29 in the world; and Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia, No. 47.

The Palm Beach Post in Florida reported that the event will go on without spectators, handshaking, ball kids and line judges. Only one chair umpire will oversee the match, and the court and the facility will be professionally disinfected before and after play.

Each player will get his own set of marked tennis balls, and the players will bring their own drinks and towels. Additionally, no coaching will be allowed.
