Chamber creates the Greater Sayville Small Business Relief Fund

|

The Greater Sayville of Commerce has established a Small Business Relief Fund to help area businesses that have been devastated by the fallout of the coronavirus pandemic.

“The fund is set up specifically for our small businesses in the Greater Sayville downtown area that are suffering financially during this COVID-19 crisis,” chamber President Eileen Tyznar said Saturday. “Just $10 can make a huge impact for them.”

All of the proceeds will go directly to those businesses in need, to be able to set up their online sales via websites, advertise, rent costs and to order stock when they are eventually able to reopen.

Even as they are closed to foot traffic and seated customers, many area businesses have stepped up to help feed residents in need, as well as and health care works and first responders during the health crisis.

“They have been there for us. Now, let’s be there for them when they need us,” Tyznar said.

The relief fund will …

  • Assist with window signage, increasing online/social media presence, and building or enhancing web sites to create better access during the COVID-19 crisis.
  • Assist with monthly overhead — rent, phone and electric — while state mandates are in place.
  • Assist as business owners prepare for what comes next — re-stocking inventory and supplies.
