Sayville businesswomen honored by Islip Town during Women’s History Month

|

Two Sayville businesswomen are among the 14 women that the Town of Islip is shining a spotlight on during March in honor of Women’s History Month.

Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce President Eileen Tyznar, an educational advocate and the owner of TEACH Consulting Services, Inc., and Valerie Shivers of Shivers Law Group are both featured front and center on the home page of the town’s website.

A Sayville resident for nearly three decades, Tyznar was also recently honored by The Suffolk County News with a “2019 Inspiration Award,” credited with making “dreams come true for the whole community.”

“I am honored to be included amongst this group of ambitious, strong and independent women, who strive to make a difference in our community,” said Tyznar, who advocates to procure needed services for children with disabilities. “There are so many women who go unnoticed on a day-to-day basis, who are also well-deserving, making positive changes all around us daily.”

Shivers focuses her practice on estate planning and administration, elder law planning, special needs planning and residential and commercial real estate. She is a member of the Alzheimer’s Association and is an accredited Veterans Affairs Attorney. Shivers serves on the chamber of commerce’s board of directors.
