Three holiday giving campaigns spearheaded byLessing’s Hospitality Group resulted in more than 5,000 meals being served to people and families in need, the Great River-based company said.

Fueled by the social media hashtags #SpreadtheCheer and #DoGood, the initiatives benefitted Island Harvest Food Bank, a hunger-relief organization that carries a mission “to end hunger and reduce food waste on Long Island.”

Lessing’s kicked off their season of giving Nov. 22 at the 11th Annual Bethpage Turkey Drive, donating 100 frozen turkeys to the food bank. It was a donation that directly benefited food pantries across the island, Lessing’s, which owns View, a waterfront restaurant in Oakdale, and Timber Point in Great River.
