Line dance event in Sayville on Saturday will raise money for Lt. Michael P. Murphy sea cadets

Break out the cowboy boots. There’s a shindig this Saturday at the West Sayville Fire Department that’s raising money for the LT Michael P. Murphy Division U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.

The Country Line Dancing Fundraiser featuring music performed by County Line and line dance lessons from Lynn Robles is sure to be a blast.

Here’s what you need to know about the event:

When: Saturday, Feb. 1, from 7 to 11 p.m.

Where: The West Sayville firehouse is located at 80 Main St. in West Sayville.

How much and what’s included: Tickets are $25 in advance — or $30 at the door. The admission charge includes beer, soda, wine and snacks. You can click here to purchase tickets.

Games of chance: There will be a 50/50 raffle and a chance auction raffling off gift baskets.

About Michael P. Murphy:  A 1994 graduate of Patchogue-Medford High School, Lt. Murphy was killed leading a team of Navy SEALs in Afghanistan in 2005. He was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in 2007. The LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum is being built on the waterfront, right next to the Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville. It will share the history of the Navy SEALs and host a training facility for U.S. Naval Sea Cadets.
