Save the date: Bayport-Blue Point St. Patrick’s Day Parade is March 15

|

Mark your calendars. Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commerce’s 30th St. Patrick’s Day Parade is Sunday, March 15.

Stepping off at 11 a.m. at the corner of Snedecor Avenue and Montauk Highway in Bayport, the parade ends down Blue Point Avenue in Blue Point.

Matthew “Matty” McGuire, president of Bayport-Blue Point Little League, is the 2020 parade’s Grand Marshal. Last year’s Grand Marshal, Lenore Ringer Prezioso, made the announcement at the chamber’s membership appreciation dinner this fall.

The chamber will host a Grand Marshal Introduction Dinner on Friday, Jan. 31, at the The Mansion of West Sayville. The event includes a four-course gourmet dinner and an open bar.

There also will be door prizes, raffles and 50/50 drawing. Click here to reserve your seats at the event.

Last year’s parade was originally scheduled for March 10, but foul weather caused the event to be postponed until a bright and sunny March 24.

The early weather forecast for March 15 — if you put any stock into such early predictions — calls for partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the high 40s.

“He has been president of Bayport Blue Point Little League for a number of years working tirelessly in growing the league and making constant improvements to the fields for all the children in our community to enjoy,” reads the Chamber of Commerce event listing on Facebook.

There’s still plenty of time to reserve your spot to march in the parade. Visit here to register by Feb. 12.
