Warner Records posts second music video featuring Sayville youth Camryn Quinlan

|

This time, she’s on her “High Horse.”

Camryn Quinlan — the Sayville seventh-grader who inked a record deal with Warner Records last year — is back on YouTube today, racking up views in a new video with Acopop! Kids. The latest release is a cover of Kacey Musgraves’ “High Horse.”

Shot last April on a ranch in Weatherford, Texas, the video was one of Camryn’s favorite video shoots with the group.

“The set of the video was really cool. It was a little set of an old Western shop,” Camryn, 12, said. “All of the kids in the group would mess around in there and pretend we were from Texas.”

Camryn’s mom Amy noted that one of the highlights of the video shoot was the opportunity for her daughter to meet Scott Hoying, a Pentatonix band member and one of the founders of Acapop! Kids. Like Pentatonix, Acopop! Kids is an a cappella group.

“He talked with the kids between takes and took pictures with them,” Amy Quinlan said.

The hardest part of the shoot?

“Wearing cowgirl boots,” Amy Quinlan said. “Camryn bought them at Go West in Bohemia.”

Camryn, who has been writing and recording her own music since she was 6 years old, said she is having a blast being part of Acopop! Kids.

“I get to work with so many amazing people, and so many talented kids are singing with me,” she said.

The Quinlans especially like the artistic freedom that Camryn is getting from Acopop! Kids producers.

“In the studio, they let Camryn use her creativity to fill in her part of the song,” Amy Quinlan said.

Camryn is one of the leads in the group’s cover of Arianna Grande’s 2018 hit “Breathin.” Released in December, the video has amassed more than 480,000 views. The group has now posted eight videos, which have in total collected nearly six million views.
