The Shed in West Sayville is opening on Nov. 19

|

At last!

After months of eager anticipation from foodies in and around the Greater Sayville area, The Shed in West Sayville will officially open for business at 10 a.m. this Tuesday, Nov. 19.

The all-day brunch eatery — located at 21 Main St. — will be open six days a week, staying closed on Mondays until Martin Luther King Day on Jan. 20, said Melissa Sorice, director of marketing and strategic initiatives for The Shed restaurant group.

Earlier this week, The Shed restaurant group owner John Tunney and his crew put the final touches on the spacious 90-seat restaurant. Then, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, The Shed hosted friends and family nights, warming up the kitchen and dining room for the hungry crowds that are sure to follow next week.

Tunney also owns The Shed in Huntington, a hugely popular brunch and dinner destination since 2017. In June, Tunney and his business partners scooped up the mansion at 21 Main St. in West Sayville, formerly occupied by the Bluestone Tavern, and have since reinvented the space with an ambitious beautification project.

The walls of the spacious 90-seat dining room are whitewashed and feature re-claimed barn wood, the giant-sized kitchen was gutted and is now equipped with gleaming new appliances and cookware, and the grounds feature new landscaping.

Just like in Huntington, West Sayville’s The Shed will offer all-day brunch until 4 p.m., before switching over to a dinner menu that still includes “brunch favorites.”
