Mets Legend Ed Kranepool speaking in Blue Point on Thursday

|

Oh boy. If you bleed orange and blue, this is gold!

Ed Kranepool — a member of the 1969 Miracle Mets and one of the most treasured players in the franchise’s 57-year history — will speak Thursday, Oct. 10, at Bayport-Blue Point Public Library in Blue Point.

From 7-8:30 p.m., “Steady Eddie” will recount his favorite memories from a 17-year Major League Baseball career that was spent entirely playing in Queens for the Amazin’s. Considering the popularity of the retired first-baseman, pre-registration is required for attendance. You can take care of that by clicking here.

A 1990-inductee into the New York Mets Hall of Fame, Kranepool, 74, ranks third on the all-time Mets hit list. He lives in Old Westbury.

The good-humored Mets legend has been steadily getting back into the swing of things since his successful kidney transplant at Stony Brook University Hospital back in May.

Watch Kranepool go deep during the 1969 World Series.

The Bayport-Blue Point Public Library is located at 203 Blue Point Ave. in Blue Point.
