Vinyl Paradise in Sayville is closing

|

The vinyl record shop on Railroad Avenue in Sayville is closing its doors for the last time this Saturday, the business announced.

“Due to some irreparable issues with our space in our building, we will no longer be able to occupy our space on Railroad Ave. in Sayville,” reads a statement posted on Vinyl Paradise’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.

“After extensive contemplation we have decided that the expense and energy with finding, moving to, and establishing a new location is beyond what we are willing or able to undertake at this time,” the statement continues.

Vinyl Paradise has called 273 Railroad Ave. home since Dan Warnken opened the shop on May 13, 2016. The shop, located between the popular Iron & Tread Barbershop and Dr. John’s Shoe Repair, has specialized in punk, metal and hard rock music, occasionally hosting live-performance events.

“We would like to thank everyone who made us an important part of their record collecting habit, everyone who played at or attended a show we hosted, and everyone who found their new favorite band digging through our stacks,” the Vinyl Paradise announcement read. “We’ve still got some hours left in us, though, so make sure to come down and help send us off in style!”
