Legendary Sayville quarterback Jack Coan is the quarterback this week on Pro Football Focus’ “Eckrich Big Ten Team of the Week.”

The Wisconsin signal caller “had an incredibly strong performance” Sept. 7 against Central Michigan, PFF reported.

Indeed, he did.

Coan completed 79% of his passes for 363 yards and three touchdowns during the 61-0 victory in Madison, Wisconsin. The junior guided Wisconsin to six touchdowns on eight first-half possessions as the Badgers built a 44-0 halftime lead.

PFF noted that Coan finished with the conference’s best adjusted completion rate among Big Ten quarterbacks last week.

Coan and the Badgers are now 2-0 and ranked No. 14 in the country, having outscored their two opponents 110-0. Next up for Wisconsin is a home match-up with Big Ten rival, No. 10 Michigan.

Rob Hoss, Coan’s high school coach at Sayville, took to Twitter to express his excitement about his former quarterback’s achievement.
