In just three months, the brand-new community news website GreaterSayville was viewed over 100,000 times, with over 65,000 unique visitors flocking to the site since its Memorial Day weekend launch.

Nearly 18,000 of those people returned for more.

GreaterSayville is published jointly by former Daily News assistant metro editor Brian Harmon and Greater Long Island Media Group, LLC.

“I’m thrilled with the immediate success of GreaterSayville,” Harmon said. “Clearly, the people of Sayville and its surrounding communities are hungry for community news that Greater Long Island Media Group delivers.”

The site’s coverage area includes Sayville, West Sayville, Oakdale, Bayport, Blue Point, Greater River and North Great River.

In just restaurant coverage alone, the site broke news of The Shed restaurant planned for the former Bluestone Tavern space, the Oakdale Brew House opening and Grey Horse Tavern becoming JT’s Farmhouse in Bayport.

There was also extensive photo coverage of popular events such Sayville Summerfest and the annual Seafood Festival in West Sayville.
