Keith McConnell, a lifelong cooking enthusiast who has worked in kitchens at The Ritz Carlton in Miami and the Head of the Bay Club in Huntington, among others, is the new chef de cuisine at View in Oakdale.
The Johnson & Wales graduate joins the popular waterfront restaurant after working for two years as line cook at the Head of the Bay Club. McConnell’s inspiration for becoming a chef goes back to childhood and watching his mother and grandmother cook at home in Florida.

While going to college, McConnell worked in the kitchen atThe Ritz Carltonin Key Biscayne in Miami, sharpening his skills in catering and learning the various stations in the restaurant kitchen.
After earning his culinary degree in 2015, McConnell landed a spot in the kitchen atVerde Wine Barin Deer Park as the banquet chef, focusing on managing the catering kitchen.
At View, O’Connell oversees the Viewkitchen and develops the menu, pulling inspiration from the area’s bounty of seafood and produce.
