Twenty-five more photos: Sayville Summerfest Day II

|

Thousands of fun-seekers flocked to downtown Sayville on Saturday for the second day of the Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce’s 40th annual Summerfest.

Throughout the day, visitors strolled along Main Street and Railroad and Gillette avenues for the event’s arts and crafts show. Meanwhile, gluttons for thrills hit the Super Shot, The Zipper and nearly a dozen other rides at the carnival holding fort all three days this weekend at Gillette Park.

And there was plenty of music, with bands playing in Gillette Park and at the beer and wine tent set up in The Common Ground at Rotary Park.

The day kicked off with the Hon. John P. Cohalan 4-Mile Run. Brendan Martin of Huntington Station was the top male finisher. Elise Ramirez of Nesconset was first across finish line among the ladies, with Oakdale’s Katie McGrath placing second.

The fun continues today, starting at 11 a.m. Be sure to check out the huge car show organized by Still Cruisin.
