There’s the carnival, the music and the car show. And let’s not forget the more than 200 food and craft vendors — and the beer and wine tasting tent!
Sayville Summerfest 2019 is now just over a week away. The Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce’s 40th annual event kicks off Friday, Aug. 9, at 5 p.m., transforming downtown Main St., Gillette Park and The Common Ground at Rotary Park into a whirlwind of fun and games for the rest of the weekend.
“It’s a great place for families to spend some time together,” said Rob Blair, a member of the chamber’s board of directors who heads up the event’s organizational team. “There’s something at the event for everyone.”
Chamber President Eileen Tyznar added, “Summerfest is good old fashioned family fun that brings so many people to our town and businesses.”
Originally called Oysterfest, the event was started in 1980 by Janet Berger and Rich Tipicovsky, Blair said.
