Frontier Airlines boosts services from L.I., adding daily and year-round flights

|

Flights from Long Island to Fort Lauderdale year-round, instead of seasonally.

Two daily flights a day to Orlando, instead of one.

And new, daily flights to Tampa, West Palm Beach, and Fort Myers

That’s all part of a big boost in service from Frontier Airlines at Long Island MacArthur Airport, according to the airline’s latest schedule, which runs from November through March.

The 30 percent increase in service was announced by Islip Town today.

“These schedule improvements will make it easier than ever to fly from MacArthur Airport,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter. “Frontier’s decision to focus on Long Island indicates the enthusiasm we are seeing from Nassau and Suffolk County travelers.

“These are people who love to fly, enjoy the convenience of MacArthur Airport, and appreciate the low fares and choices from Frontier,” she added.

Year-round service to Raleigh-Durham and Atlanta will also be in the offering, instead of just seasonal service. In total, Frontier’s new winter schedule grows its weekly departures from MacArthur Airport by up to 19 additional flights, compared to the last fall schedule.

“Long Island is really responding to Frontier’s service, and we want to make it easier for people to fly more often,” said Daniel Shurz, a senior vice president at Frontier.

“Once Long Island customers see our fares and fly Frontier, they realize our commitment to customer service is real, that our staff is friendly, that our aircraft are the greenest in the aviation industry, and that travel truly can be more accessible and affordable.”
