Pet Parade prances down Main Street in Sayville

|

By Shannon Miller

Long Island’s furry friends strutted their stuff down Main Street on Saturday at the Sayville Rotary Club’s 43rd annual Pet Parade.

Dogs of all breeds and sizes placed one paw in front of the other, braving 90-degree temperatures as they led their owners all the way from the parking lot of St. Lawrence School to the Common Ground at Rotary Park.

After the parade concluded, Cub Scout Pack 363 from Sayville assisted in offering all thirsty pets a bowl of water. Among the thirsty pets were a few parakeets and a guinea pig. The pets were reviewed by judges from the Rotary Club, and awards were given to the best large and small dog.
