Big and tall, furry and scaly. Pets of pretty much all varieties will march down Main Street this Saturday during the Sayville Rotary Club‘s 43rd annual Pet Parade.
Dogs, cats, birds, horse, lizards, guinea pigs and all sorts of littler pets will be on display during an event that attracts hundreds of onlookers to Sayville sidewalks.
Things get going at 8 a.m., with registration taking place in the parking lot of St. Lawrence School, 27 Handsome Ave. near Main St. The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. and ends the Common Ground at Rotary Park.
Here’s what else you need to know about the event:
• Judging for various award categories takes place in Rotary Park from 10-11 a.m.
• Awards — which have included Best in Show and Best Dressed — will be given out during an 11 a.m. ceremony.
• The walking of the pets starts promptly 9 a.m., with participants leaving the St. Lawrence parking lot and heading east on Main Street.
