Story Update

The Oakdale Brew House has hit the ground running this week in its first days of operation.

The long-awaited eatery in Lighthouse Commons on Montauk Highway served a busy crowd Monday night after opening for business at 3 p.m.

“I told we could do it,” said OBH owner Niall Crowe, 57, whose daughter Lauren got married two days before OBH opened. Crowe also operates three popular taverns in Babylon Village — Lily Flanagan’s Pub, The Local and The Villager.

OBH General Manager Tim Gay added, “It looked nice before, but it looks a lot nicer with people inside.”

The Brew House has replaces what was Molly Maguires, and before that, O’Reilly’s, in

Lighthouse Commons on Montauk Highway. The shopping center is also home to the popular CM Performing Arts Center, the Oakdale post office and Fresh Food Supermarket, which opened June 7.

OBH features two sizable bars, a wide selection of craft beers and local wine, a late-night kitchen and an open ceiling that gives the joint a hip, industrial look.
